New Client Tips

If you recently retained our firm, here are some do’s and don’ts

PLEASE DO

  1. Supply the firm with ALL required documents by uploading to your Clio Manage client portal  [link to bankruptcy forms needed page here].
  2. Continue to send your bank statements and all proof of income (paystubs) until you receive notice from our office to stop supplying them
  3. Complete your required credit counseling online at cricketdebt.com – use attorney code 8567514224 for your certificate to be sent directly to our office
  4. Make sure that the firm’s balance has been paid in full – your attorney signing appointment will not be scheduled if you have an outstanding balance
  5. Share all of your assets with us. This includes lawsuits, personal property and any real estate that you have an interest in (including land)
  6. If you are being sued, avoid direct deposit and keeping large sums of money in your bank account until your case is filed as you are NOT completely protected from wage garnishments or bank levies until your case is filed and you have your case number
  7. Make sure your tax returns are all filed with the IRS and State of NJ and that our office has copies of your filed returns for the last 3 years

PLEASE DO NOT

  1. Rack up new debt before we file your bankruptcy as this could lead to a creditor or Trustee objection
  2. Move assets, money in the bank, title to cars or real estate without speaking to us first
  3. Overshare on social media, Facebook, Instagram. Expect that the Trustee and your creditors will review what you post online.
  4. Fail to tell us you are going to receive assets like a personal injury settlement or an inheritance
  5. Fail to tell us you have hired a lawyer for any reason
