341 Meeting Information

341 Meeting of Creditors

The trustee will interview you in a Zoom meeting to verify the information on your bankruptcy petition.

Your job is to listen to the trustee’s questions carefully and answer them honestly and concisely.

Most questions can be answered with a “yes” or “no”.  You should answer open-ended questions right to the point. If you don’t know the answer, cannot remember the answer, or don’t understand the question, say so.

If there is no question pending wait quietly until the trustee asks a question.

Here is a video with an example Chapter 13 and Chapter 7 341 Meeting.

Virtual 341 Meetings

As of September 1, 2023, all 341 Meetings of Creditors are held via Zoom.

If you would like to come into our office to attend your 341 meeting, please let us know in advance so we can accommodate you.

Keep in mind, there will be multiple hearings taking place during this block. When joining Zoom, you will be asked to enter your name; you must use your FULL NAME (I.e. John Doe). Please make sure you are not using an inappropriate handle.

Treat your 341 meeting like court, be dressed appropriately (you do not need to be in a suit but maybe forego the concert t-shirt), conduct yourself appropriately (do not talk over anyone, do not be rude, do not use foul language), keep your answers formal (“yes” or “no” not “yeah” or “yep” or “nah” or “naw”).

When you enter the Zoom meeting you should immediately mute your microphone and turn off your camera. You should only unmute your phone when your case is called. At that time, turn on your camera.

You must be the only person in the room when your hearing is being conducted, make sure your location is private.
